Paris world premiere for 458 Speciale A

The 458 Speciale A makes its world debut at the Mondial de l’Automobile 2014 in Paris.  The new car is a limited edition special series of just 499 and the most powerful spider (the A stands for Aperta) in Ferrari history, thanks to an unprecedented engine and active aerodynamics.

The 458 Speciale A sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and its chassis uses aerospace materials and technologies, including no less than 10 different aluminium alloys. The retractable hard top (RHT) retracts and deploys in just 14 seconds too. The car also has this-generation electronics, specifically Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) which allows even less expert drivers to exit corners on the limit for a truly uniquely exhilarating driving experience.

On its first public outing, the 458 Speciale A will be sporting a triple-layer Modena yellow livery  with a central stripe in Blu NART and Bianco Avus, an homage to Luigi Chinetti’s legendary American racing team which won many endurance classics in the 1960s in Ferraris.

The interiors are quite understated, with carbon-fibre used for the dash trim, door panels and central tunnel, the latter an exclusive blue in Paris, also used for the treadplates. The seats are newly-designed too with Alcantara© upholstery, contrasting stitching and 3D fabric trim.
